Install the web app

The Firehall web app can be installed from a supported browser. Open Settings and use the installation action when available. On iOS, use Safari's share menu and choose Add to Home Screen.

Offline behavior

The service worker caches the public application shell, scripts, styles, fonts, and icons. Department messages, roster data, private files, API responses, and credentials are not cached by the service worker.

An internet connection is required to load department data or send messages. There is no offline send queue. Fictional preview data is available only in an explicit preview build.

Updates

When an update is available, Firehall asks before reloading. Finish or copy active drafts first. The service worker is served with Cache-Control: no-cache so the browser can check for newer versions.

Hosting

The web Worker serves static application assets and the same-origin session broker. Missing assets return 404 rather than application HTML. The broker keeps API credentials server-side and only connects to configured backend origins.

Scripts and fonts are served locally. The content security policy permits HTTPS and secure WebSocket connections for server selection; operators can restrict those destinations for a single-server installation.

Non-emergency communication only. Not for dispatch or emergency response.
